Originally formed by Zulu migrant workers in 1932 Amazulu have become one of the biggest teams in South Africa winning the National Professional Soccer League in 1972 and the Coca-Cola Cup in 1992. The Managing Director of the club is Spar Group Chief Executive Officer Graham O'Connor which has seen the corner shop brand sponsor the Durban based team for over 25 years. The club crest sits in the unusual position of the right of the chest as the club purchased generic teamwear shirts from Nike and had their logo embroided themselves.
